Practice pacing after you understand the work
Separate a content problem from a timing problem. If you cannot solve a question without a clock, trying it faster is unlikely to fix the missing method. Learn the method first, then practice recognizing when it applies.
When you do timed work, use a comparable task and record where you slowed down. Review both unanswered questions and rushed guesses. An aggregate accuracy number can hide the difference between those problems.
Keep official material in the routine
ACT publishes preparation resources for students. Use those as the starting point for understanding test expectations and as a checkpoint alongside independent practice.
Review a completed practice session before taking another full test. Select one or two recurring errors for the following week and look for evidence that they are becoming less frequent on unfamiliar questions.
